BUILDING THE ZERO HOUSE The Zero House was a collaborative project between the Endeavour Centre (Peterborough) and Ryerson Polytechnical (Toronto). The house leaves barely a footprint, designed for off-the-grid living. The project was completed in the Summer of 2017 on the front lawn of The Mount Community Centre. It was then disassembled and taken to an energy show in Toronto. http://endeavourcentre.org/ |

RE-NAMING THE CHAPEL TO THE
AUSTIN DORAN HALL August 2017 Formerly the chapel, this magnificent hall was renamed in honour of the first General Superior of the newly formed Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of Peterborough. In 1893, it was Mother Austin who arranged for the purchase of the of the initial 10 acre farm known as Inglewood. At that time there was a house, a barn and extensive grounds. The property would eventually grow to encompass over 100 acres and the main building would be over 132,000 square feet with its centre piece being their beautiful 1934 Chapel. The Mount Community Centre is privileged to be the stewards of this stunning piece of architecture. |
