Application Process for Residential Apartments at The Mount Community Centre (TMCC):
- Applications are available only when there is a vacancy at TMCC.
- TMCC does not keep a waiting list.
- Applications can be picked up at The Mount Community Centre (TMCC) when a rental apartment is available.
- Applications must include income verification. Copies of the following documents are required:
- Last year's Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Agency
- Most recent last 3 months pay stubs
- Last 3 month's bank statements
- Property owners may not apply for 'Affordable' apartments.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Applications must be returned to TMCC.
- Applicants will only be contacted if an interview is offered.
- Interviews will be scheduled.
- Previous landlords and references will be contacted.
- A credit check will be conducted.
- Applications will only be considered for the advertised vacancy. After the vacancy is filled, applications and any supporting documentation will be destroyed.
- Every new vacancy requires a new application.
If You Are Offered An Apartment:
- An appointment will be scheduled for you to see the apartment.
- If you accept the apartment, you must sign a 'Letter of Offer' at the Peterborough Housing Corporation (PHC) office, located at 526 McDonnel Street, Peterborough. PHC is the Property Manager for residential tenants living at The Mount Community Centre.
- Your move-in date will be confirmed by PHC.
- A signed lease agreement and the first and last month's rent are required before keys will be provided.
